Long Speaks at Clerk of Court / Magistrate Institute
(Pierre) – Chief Deputy Attorney General Larry Long addressed nearly 80 Clerks of Court and Clerk-Magistrates from across South Dakota today.
Long gave a presentation entitled “What you’ve always wanted to know about the Attorney General’s Office” for the Clerks of Court/ Magistrate Institute.
Long said, “I look at it as a great opportunity to let people already in the system know what the Attorney General’s Office is all about. The institute helps provide a better look at the legal system from start to finish.”
The three day training seminar is an annual event sponsored by the Unified Judicial System. Topics discussed at the seminar include on and off the job motivation, information and technology updates, records research, and a review of the responsibilities of clerks and magistrates.
Other featured speakers at the event included South Dakota Chief Justice David Gilbertson and Supreme Court Clerk Shirley Jameson-Fergel.
The institute lasts through tomorrow, April 24, and is being held in Pierre.
