Massachusetts Man Sentenced in Possession of Marijuana with Intent to Distribute Case

PIERRE, S.D.  –Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that Donald McCormick, 40, Ipswich, MA, was sentenced to serve 8 years, with no jail suspended, on one count of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, a class 3 felony.
Charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Interstate 90 in Pennington County on January 6, 2012, which resulted in the discovery of 947 pounds of marijuana.
This case was investigated by the South Dakota Highway Patrol and the Unified Narcotics Enforcement Team and was prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
