2012 Attorney General Ballot Explanations for Constitutional Amendments, Referred Law and Initiated Measure
PIERRE, S.D. – Attorney General Marty Jackley announces that he delivered to the Secretary of State the following Attorney General ballot explanations for placement on the November 2012 general election ballot.
Referred Law 14- An Act to establish the Large Project Development Fund.
Initiated Measure 15-An initiated measure to increase state general sales and use taxes for additional K-12 public education and Medicaid funding.
Constitutional Amendment M-An Amendment to the South Dakota Constitution regarding certain provisions relating to corporations.
Constitutional Amendment N-An Amendment to the South Dakota Constitution repealing certain reimbursement restrictions for travel by legislators to and from a legislative session.
UPDATED May 10, 2012 - Constitutional Amendment O UPDATED-An Amendment to the South Dakota Constitution changing the method for distributions from the cement plant trust fund.
Constitutional Amendment P-An Amendment to the South Dakota Constitution adding balanced budget requirements.
The Attorney General is statutorily responsible for providing a ballot explanation that is objective, clear, and a simple summary to assist the voters on the purpose and effect of a proposed initiated measure, referred law and Constitutional Amendments.
