Jim Iosty Honored by State’s Attorneys

PIERRE, S.D.  The South Dakota State’s Attorneys Association honored Minnehaha County Deputy State’s Attorney, Jim Iosty as South Dakota Prosecutor of the Year.  The award, established in 2002, is given annually to an outstanding South Dakota prosecutor and was presented at the Annual Meeting of the Association held in Deadwood on May 10, 2012. Association President Brown County State’s Attorney Kim Dorsett, Minnehaha County State’s Attorney Aaron McGowan, Attorney General Marty Jackley and other Association members presented a personal version of the award to Iosty.  The permanent plaque recognizing Iosty along with past and future recipients of the award is displayed in the office of the Attorney General in Pierre.
Iosty has served as a Deputy State’s Attorney in Minnehaha County for over 25 years and prosecuting some of the most heinous and complex cases committed during that time. He is known for his superb trial preparation and for tireless work to successfully seek justice in his cases.
“For over 25 years Jim has served the interest of justice, victims and the people of Minnehaha County,” said Jackley. “He defines what it is to be a tireless public servant in the State of South Dakota.”
