Corson County Sheriff’s Office to Receive Money for K9 Replacement Vehicle from Drug Control Fund

PIERRE, S.D  -    Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that the Corson County Sheriff’s Office has been awarded $20,000 to put towards the purchase of a K-9 replacement vehicle to be used in drug investigations. The money was awarded out of the Drug Control Fund. The award will assist local law enforcement in drug control and apprehension purposes.
“The Drug Control Fund allows law enforcement to continue to combat controlled substance abuse by continuing to fund local programs such as this K-9 Unit,” said Jackley.
“Thanks to the Attorney General’s Office for allowing us to utilize drug fund money for our K-9 Unit. The Corson County K-9 Unit is the only state certified drug dog in the north central part of South Dakota and these services are available to all the surrounding agencies,” said Corson County Sheriff Keith Gall. “These funds will allow Corson County to keep the drug dog program active and to keep our communities and roadways safe. “
