Roberts County Man Arrested on Murder Charge

PIERRE, S.D.-  Attorney General Marty Jackley and Roberts County States Attorney Kerry Cameron announce today that Patrick Wayne Hopkins, 23, Peever, has been arrested and charged with one count of 1st degree murder. The penalty for first degree murder is either death or a mandatory life sentence.

Hopkins was arrested last evening for the stabbing death of Adam LaFramboise. Charges stem from an incident that occurred on January 4, 2013 at a residence in Peever, South Dakota.
 
Hopkins is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.

Agencies that assisted in this arrest were the Robert’s County Sheriff’s Office, Codington County Search and Rescue, Sisseton Wahpeton Police Department, Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Division of Criminal Investigation.
