Rapid City Area Individuals Arrested for Insurance Fraud
PIERRE, S.D - Attorney General Marty Jackley announced today that several individuals from the Rapid City area were indicted on March 6, 2013 and arrested on insurance fraud charges stemming from a 6 month investigation by the Division of Criminal Investigation. The investigation resulted in over $30,000 in fraudulent claims or loan payments from different insurance/financial institutions.
James L. Boyce, 27, Box Elder
-3 counts of fraudulent insurance acts, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine
Amanda Boyce, 24, Rapid City
-1 count of fraudulent insurance acts, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine
Tyler Whay, 23, Rapid City
-1 count of fraudulent insurance acts, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000 fine
Kyle Packman, 21, Rapid City
-1 count of fraudulent insurance acts, class 4 felony, punishable by up to 10 years and/or $20,000
All the above individuals are presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty.
This case was investigated by the Division of Criminal Investigation and is being prosecuted by the Attorney General’s Office.
