Mitchell Man Indicted and Arrested in Brule County Homicide
PIERRE, S.D - Attorney General Marty Jackley and Brule County States Attorney David Natvig announced today that Kent Gene Davidson, 36, Mitchell, was indicted last week by a Brule County Grand Jury. Davidson was indicted on one count first degree murder, class A felony, mandatory life sentence in the state penitentiary or death, one count second degree murder, class B felony, life imprisonment in the state penitentiary, one count manslaughter in the first degree, class C felony, up to life imprisonment and/or $50,000 fine and one count of commission of a felony while armed with a firearm, class 2 felony twenty-five years imprisonment in the state penitentiary and/or $50,000 fine.
The indictment charges that on or about March 11 2013, Kent Gene Davidson murdered Crystal Ann Schulz in a shed at a rural Brule County farmstead.
Davidson is presumed innocent until such time as proven guilty. Initial appearance is scheduled on April 9, 2013, in Brule County at 1:00 p.m.
The investigation is being conducted by the Division of Criminal Investigation.
