Tim Bormann Biography

Tim was born and raised in Corsica, South Dakota. After high school he attended Black Hills State University which lead to a decade in broadcasting, working at radio stations in Deadwood, Belle Fourche, Mitchell and Winner, all in South Dakota and Casper, Wyoming. While in Casper he also earned Associate of Arts degrees in Journalism and Communication from Casper College. He is a 1996 graduate of the University of South Dakota with a Bachelor of Science in History, a 1998 graduate of the University of South Dakota Graduate School with a Master of Arts in American History, and a 2001 graduate of the University of South Dakota School of Law where he received his Juris Doctorate.
He has been in private practice in Faulkton, South Dakota since graduating law school, first as a solo practitioner with the Bormann Law Office and for the past 4 years with the Gillette Law Office in Redfield, South Dakota. Tim has served as the Faulk County State's Attorney since 2003, acting as the county's prosecutor and legal counsel while also acting as a Deputy State's Attorney for neighboring Spink and Walworth counties. He also served as the Mayor of Faulkton from 2004-14.
Tim and his wife Tami have three daughters, Tyler, Taryn and Tayge.
