Crime Victim Services

The Division of Criminal Investigation created our Victim Services Unit in 2004.  This program was developed to provide meaningful crime victim services in rural areas or where services are not readily available. Our primary mission is to help South Dakota's victims navigate the criminal justice system and provide information about area resources.  Holding the perpetrator accountable while supporting that the victim be heard and treated with dignity and respect are essential for the success of our program.

Currently there are 3 Victim Witness Specialists assigned to regions across the state who directly work with victims and witnesses of crime.  If you have questions about services in your area, please contact Division of Criminal Investigation Victim Services Unit Supervisor Matt Glenn or Team Leader Jeff Kollars at (605) 773-3331.

If you have any questions about services, please contact the victim witness provider in your area, or your county state's attorney office.
